Day 1
Carlowrie Club

Upon arrival at The Carlowrie Club, your Scotland’s Gems Experience begins as you are piped into the castle to be met with your favourite drink and a selection of Scottish sweet treats.

After time to settle in you will have the opportunity to get into the ‘swing’ of things on a specially created Driving Range on the Carlowrie Club grounds, with tuition from a PGA Professional available**

In the evening you will enjoy an 8 course Taste of Scotland sampling menu, curated especially for you by our award-winning Head Chef Iain MacDonald and his team. Each dish will be paired with a fine wine or prestige whisky, the selection curated and explained by our partners, Master of Wine Rose Murray-Brown and Stephen Rankin, Director of Prestige and fourth generation member of the Gordon & MacPhail family, the world’s foremost authority on Single Malt Scotch Whisky***.

Following dinner, Stephen will lead you in a very special sampling of some of the rarest and most prestigious Single Malt Whiskies in the world, worth several thousands of pounds. Especially for you and your party, each whisky has been selected to commemorate a year which is memorable to you, perhaps the year of your marriage, of your first born or when you stated your business. Stephen will regale you with anecdotes about not only why these years were so significant to each whisky, but with the events which shaped the whiskies, the world and you.

To commemorate this evening, Stephen will also provide you with a keepsake to commemorate your Gordon & MacPhail ‘birthday’ and will offer his services as your personal ‘whisky concierge’ should you ever wish to track down and purchase a rare and prestige Single Malt Whisky.

**Tuition by the PGA Professional must be confirmed on or before the balance payment of your vacation experience.

Day 2
The Machrie – Islay, by Helicopter* (No Handicap Required)

After breakfast you will board the Helicopter(s) for a 70 minute flight to breath-taking isle of Islay, part of Scotland’s Inner Hebrides for a round on the majestic The Machrie, Scotland’s 19th best course. Members of The Machrie’s senior management team and the Head Golf Professional will greet you with a VIP reception. You will then have the option to fine tune your game with the help of the Professional before testing your imagination and creativity on this stunning links.

After your round you will enjoy a private lunch before being transferred the short distance to the nearby Laphroaig Distillery, where a member of the senior management team will take you on a private VIP tour of the distillery, with sampling of several Laphroaig single malt whiskies.

Dependant on the time of year, quality of light and weather conditions, your helicopter flight back The Carlowrie Club will allow you to see some of the most dramatic, breath-taking and beautiful landscapes and landmarks in the world, taking in our islands, the Atlantic Ocean and lochs.
On return to The Carlowrie Club you will enjoy a delicious three-course meal prepared by award winning Head Chef and his team, and a chance to relax and reflect on your day’s play.

Day 3
Machrihanish Golf Club – Mull of Kintyre, by Helicopter* (No Handicap Required)

Another helicopter trip awaits, this time to the incredible Machrihanish Golf Club on the Mull of Kintyre. Club Steward Iain McLean, the Club Captain Callus MacMillan and PGA Professional Jennie Dunn will offer you a warm VIP welcome in the authentic and traditional clubhouse before you hit your opening drive across the Atlantic Ocean.

After your round a Private lunch will be served in the Captain’s Private Dining Room, however as the Machrihanish Golf Club is one of the more traditional clubhouses on your experience you may wish to sample the authentic clubhouse hospitality of lunch and a pint in the restaurant and bar, which has panoramic views of the course.**

Your return flight offers yet more stunning views of Scotland’s unrivalled landscape, arriving at The Carlowrie Club late afternoon with time to refresh and relax before being chauffeured into Edinburgh to enjoy an exclusive VIP Private Dining Experience at Michelin-Starred restaurant The Kitchin***.

Celebrity Chef Tom Kitchin will prepare a delightful Surprise Tasting Menu, paired with an Exclusive Wine for each course. Tom will also invite your party into the kitchen to see him and his team at work, before joining you for coffee, shortbread and conversation at the end of the meal.

Upon finishing your dining experience, you will have the opportunity to either enjoy Edinburgh’s vibrant nightlife or see the city at night from the comfort of your chauffeur driven Range Rover or Tesla.

Day 4
Cruden Bay Golf Club – Aberdeenshire, by Helicopter* (Handicap Required: Men – 18. Ladies – 24)

The Helicopter is once again your mode of transport as you travel to the north east of the country to play spectacular Cruden Bay Golf Club, where you will once again enjoy a VIP welcome before a chance to warm up on the range ahead of playing this spectacular links.

Following lunch in the welcoming Clubhouse you will be flown down the east coast to the Kingsbarns** Distillery where you will meet with the rest of your party** for a wonderful evening of fine dining, gin and whisky.

At this fabulous new facility, where gin and Wemyss Malt whiskies are produced, you will be met by brother and sister owners William and Isabella Wemyss, who will guide you around the distillery, telling the story of the Kingsbarns Distillery, including the very first distillery built on Wemyss land at the turn of the 19th century, when John Haig, founder of Haig’s – today made famous by the Single Grain Whisky ‘Haig Club’ and endorsed by David Beckham – built on the land.

Your VIP tour includes sampling and the opportunity to make your very own gin. You will then sit down to a sumptuous dinner with paired gins, engaging conversation and fabulous views before returning to The Carlowrie Club by Range Rover.

*** Non-Golfers in your party who have not selected an alternative experience will have the opportunity to spend the day enjoying St Andrews, including the opportunity to make use of the Spa facilities of the iconic Old Course Hotel and enjoy a VIP Afternoon Tea.

Day 5
North Berwick Golf Club* (Handicap Required: Men – 24. Ladies – 36)

Your final day of golf sees you transferred by Range Rover to beautiful East Lothian, known as ‘Scotland’s Golf Cost’ to play the 6th best course in Scotland and 50th best in the world in 2019 – North Berwick**.

On arrival you will enjoy another VIP Reception in The Dining Room. The oldest part of the clubhouse, this was built in 1880 as the original gentlemen’s locker room and features original lockers, pictures of Past Captains and the main Honours Board. PGA Professional Martyn Huish will offer the chance of some fine tuning before your round commences.

After your round you will return to The Dining Room for lunch and drinks.

You will then have the option to enjoy any of the following:

• Relax in The Dining Room or Lounge

• Venture into Edinburgh for an opportunity to shop or to enjoy a private VIP tour of a City Centre Landmark*.

• Return to The Carlowrie Club to relax and refresh ahead of your final evening of dining and entertainment.

Your final evening blends inimitable Scottish hospitality with yet more incredible Scottish food and drink by way of a delicious 4 course Scottish Banquet, with matched wines and whiskies.

You will be piped in for dinner and the music will continue post dinner as you make your way to the Orangery to complete your ‘Icons Experience’ with the frenetic energy and inimitable family fun of a traditional Scottish Ceilidh**, with a live band performing tradition ceilidh music followed by traditional folk songs, once the dancing has finished. As is tradition, a midnight feast of traditional Scottish ceilidh delicacies, such as Stovies, will be served.

*Please advise no later than at time of balance payment if you wish to enjoy a private VIP tour of a City Centre Landmark. The Carlowrie Club will select an appropriate Landmark based on time constraints and availability.

Where multiple experiences are selected, evening dining experiences may be subject to change to accommodate the group dining together.
Whatever your chosen Golf Experience the following will be provided**:
• A luxury Carlowrie Club golf shirt to commemorate each course played during your experience
• A luxury Carlowrie golf sweater to commemorate each course played during your experience
• One Carlowrie Club windcheater
• One set of Carlowrie Club waterproofs
• Your choice of Carlowrie Club cap or visor (Bobble hat in winter months)
• One Carlowrie Club golf glove for each round
• 12 of your preferred golf balls for each round
• Carlowrie Club Tees for each round
• One Carlowrie Club Pitchmark Repair and Marker
• One Carlowrie Club Scorecard Holder and pencils
• One Carlowrie Club Towel
• One Carlowrie club Umbrella
• All in-round bottled water, fruit and snacks
• All halfway refreshments, including hot and cold food, fruit, confectionary, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages
• All contest requirements and prizes (e.g. longest drive, closest to the hole)
• Full use of locker room, shower and spa facilities where applicable
• Use of Caddies
Where possible the tee-time immediately before and after your party will be blocked to assure you of a comfortable pace of play. ***
Most courses in Scotland require official handicaps. This varies with each course however typically handicaps of 24 or lower are acceptable***
Play will be in whatever format chosen by you.
The majority of Scotland’s courses are walking courses and a valid medical exemption certificate will be require for the use of electric carts.
